Paulo is a visionary artist based in Southern New Mexico. His use of painting and photography among other creative mediums, is an ongoing journey of self discovery and self expression. Drawing upon personal experiences relating to the transcendent potential in human consciousness. His work takes on an abstract and metaphoric quality that hints of a primordial play between the ‘unseen’ and the physical. Vibrant, and often surreal, Paulo’s work bridges realms of the imagination with colorful depths of the heart. Influences are found in nature, travel, cosmology, dreams, indigenous wisdom, literature and what he refers to as “practicing presence”. A recent solo exhibition of his work shown in Las Cruces, New Mexico, garnered great public attention and critical acclaim. Paulo is presently evolving with a 2026 follow up solo-exhibition of new paintings. Including a series of fine art photographic prints from his journeys in NYC and the New Mexico landscape he now lives to explore.
